Description

vetmedin is an FDA-approved cardiac medication containing Pimobendan, indicated for the management of congestive heart failure (CHF) due to atrioventricular valvular insufficiency (AVVI) or dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs.
It enhances myocardial contractility and causes balanced vasodilation, improving cardiac output and quality of life.
Dosage:
0.23 mg/lb (0.5 mg/kg) body weight per day, divided into two doses given 12 hours apart.
Administer orally, with or without food.
Contraindications:
Not for use in dogs with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy or aortic stenosis.
